Become a WMP Partner: Help Us Unlock Grant Funding

COMPLETE ON-LINE CASH MATCH COMMITMENT FORM
The Marble-Coldwater Clean Water Partnership (MCCWP) is preparing major grant applications to fund the development of a comprehensive Watershed Management Plan (WMP) for the Marble-Coldwater Chain of Lakes in Branch County, Michigan.

Our goal is to secure $180,000 to develop a science-based roadmap for protecting and improving water quality, reducing shoreline erosion, addressing nutrient loading, mitigating harmful algae blooms, and managing watershed runoff.
Grant programs are highly competitive. To strengthen our applications, we must demonstrate substantial local financial commitment and community support.

Become an Official WMP Partner

Organizations and individuals with the financial capacity to do so are invited to become Official Watershed Management Plan (WMP) Partners by making a minimum $5,000 cash-match commitment toward the local funding required for our grant applications.

Your commitment will help demonstrate strong community investment in the project and provide the local match necessary to pursue state grant funding. If awarded, the grant funding will leverage these local dollars to support a much larger investment in the future of our watershed.

We recognize that not every organization has the budget to participate at this level. Businesses that would like to support this important effort with a smaller contribution are encouraged to visit our Business Sponsor page. Individuals can support the effort through our Donate page.

Every contribution, regardless of size, helps protect the future of the Marble-Coldwater Watershed and strengthens our ability to secure additional grant funding.
Your Commitment

Formal commitment letters will be included with our grant applications as documentation of local matching funds and community support.

No funds will be requested unless and until a grant is officially awarded. If our grant applications are unsuccessful, the commitment will be considered void and no payment will be requested.

⚠️ CRITICAL DEADLINE
All signed commitment letters must be submitted no later than October 1, 2026 to ensure they can be compiled and included with our grant application.

❓ Partner Frequently Asked Questions

Who is receiving these funds?

Commitments are made directly to the Marble-Coldwater Clean Water Partnership (MCCWP) to support development of the Watershed Management Plan and the required local match for grant applications.

When will our organization be required to fulfill the cash pledge?

This is a post-award match commitment. No funds will be requested unless and until a grant is officially awarded. If a grant is awarded, the pledged funds will be provided in two installments: at least 50% upon notification of the grant award, with the remaining balance due within 12 months of the grant award, unless alternative terms are agreed upon with MCCWP. If the grant applications are unsuccessful, the commitment is void and no funds will be requested.
Grant awards are anticipated to begin as early as Spring 2027.

Can our organization pledge more than $5,000?

Yes! To ensure our applications are as competitive as possible, we are aiming
to exceed a total local match of $50,000. Larger pledges (e.g., $10,000 or
$15,000) significantly increase our chances of winning the award.
